Do you cry at sad movies? Well, grab your hankie for this one. There were four pups abandoned on a road in northern Calvert, and people started seeing and reporting them to us, but we were unable to catch them. One by one they were hit and killed by cars. Finally there was one pup left who stayed by the bodies of her family, even in the snow and rain. We're unsure if she was a litter mate or the mother. We had to put traps out to catch her. She was slowly starving to death. In just two or three days she went in the trap for food and we nabbed her. Maya has been in a foster home for about two months and is coming around by leaps and bounds. She plays with their other dogs and is just like a normal dog, as long as it is just her foster mom with her. She may even have ideas that maybe she owns the place. This girl is now ready to go to her forever home where she can bond permanently with a person or family. She'll meet you more than half way. Can you take that step towards her?
