Meet Radar

Age: 6
Gender: M
Size: Medium
Breed: Black Lab Mix
Status: Available

Finally Free but not Yet Content! Radar lived his entire life on the end of a chain in a back yard in Southern Maryland for 6 long years. He was recently rescued from this life of loneliness and pain. The constant chaining and tethering of dogs should be illegal. No dog should have to live chained to a tree or other object 24 hours a day/7days a week with little to no human interaction! Radar is just now learning how to interact with other dogs and he is doing pretty well. He craves attention from people and is so content to just have you pet him and spend time with him--something he never had until now. We want Radar to be able to spend the rest of his life with a real family. We want him to receive love and kindness before he leaves this earth with people who will invest the time to teach him what dogs really do deserve. Radar still has half of his life left; would you please consider adopting a middle age dog that is so in need of rescue? Radar does not do well with cats, may do well with other dogs, but we would prefer that he be an only pet so that he can have ALL of your attention. We are also looking for someone to foster Radar so we can get him out of a kennel environment. Radar has been experiencing some stress from the kennel environment. He desperately needs to be in a home with love and attention. He has basically gone from a chain to a kennel and that simply is not good enough. Of course, he gets passed by on adoption days as everyone seems to overlook the black lab mix that is middle aged. He is somewhat housetrained and is not destructive in a home. He is a strong puller on a leash, so a fenced in yard would be ideal. One thing we can guarantee--he will love you and be grateful for giving him a better life!
